Brief Updates 2018/19

Thursday 15 August - We were delighted to have all our pupils return to school today, looking forward to a great year ahead. Every year group had an Assembly where we reiterated our commitment to our School Values and Charter; our procedures for things like attendance, latecoming, lockers, social areas and behaviour in the community; Fire procedures; Activ8 and key dates of importance over the next few weeks. We also stated and explained how our school continues to improve year on year in both pupil achievements and in the SQA Examination Results - last year had been our most successful year for results, and this year our pupils managed to improve yet again in 7 out of the 9 key benchmarks areas......... fantastic.
We would also like to thank all parents/carers for their support in the introduction of Blazers across all year groups. We had just over 95% of pupils wearing Blazers today, incredible, and most of the pupils not in Blazers have actually ordered one. Our aim, as you would expect, is for ALL pupils to be in Blazers.

Pupils return to school on Thursday 15 August, for a prompt 8:50 am start, in full school uniform, including
 all Year Groups in Blazers.
Please read the accompanying file with detail on our school uniform and communication via Show My Homework.

Tuesday 30 April - The music department organised a trip to the Edinburgh Playhouse to see the musical “Matilda”.  Here is a mini review from some S2 pupils. The quirky music and amazing set design made the play stand out from any others from this decade. The young actors on stage delivered the performance with powerful voices that left us blown away with their bravery, as they are so young but delivered the performance to such a high standard. We recommend this musical to all families with the itch to be entertained and be inspired.'

Sunday 28 April - RECORD ALERT - CALLUM HAWKINS SETS NEW MARATHON MARK! What a moment in London for CALLUM HAWKINS as he lands a new Scottish National Marathon Record in London.

That outstripped the 2.09.16 set by Allister Hutton in London in 1985 and stood as the Scottish record for fully 34 years.
Callum has also stamped his ticket for the World Champs in Doha later in the year and firmly put behind him the agony of Australia a year ago.
His own PB prior to today had been 2.10.17 at London 2017.
Many congratulations to Callum, his family and coach Robert on a superb performance in London! We have used the above picture with kind permission from Scottish Athletics.
