UNICEF Day for Change and Non-uniform day
|
Thursday 25 June is not only our UNICEF Day for Change, as part of our Rights Respecting Schools agenda, but also a non-uniform day with an International theme.
Whenever or wherever disaster strikes, UNICEF responds rapidly to deliver life-saving food, medicine and water so that children in danger get the help that they need. Day for Change is a chance for pupils to learn about what life is like for children around the world. The day started with an informative lesson for all pupils about Nepal and Syria and a reminder of how different their lives are to our own lives in Scotland. S6 pupils really entered into a summer theme with some fabulous decorative displays complete with a very professional looking make-up salon. The proceeds of the day will go to the Nepal Disaster Appeal and some to school funds. Article - Mrs R Sharp, Faculty Head Humanities |
